Project Overview
Écoduvin is a smart wine preserver that works in multiple ways to ensure opened bottles of wine are preserved and taste fresh for the longest time possible. The idea behind the product was to reduce the amount of wine wasted by a single household. Using research, ideation, user stories and foam modelling I created a CAD model and developed the UI to bring the vision to life.
Project Brief
The brief was to identify an opportunity for an IoT product for which the industrial design and app interface are dedicated to a clearly defined context.

DESIGN DIRECTION

“In the UK we pour away the equivalent of 624 million bottles of wine each year”.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

I explored the form by using ideation sketches. I also sketched out some details to make it easier to design the CAD for the final design. To help with form giving, foam modelling was done to give me a physical feel of a few ideas.

These illustrative images display how the product is intended to be used.

CAD MODEL

The final design was created in Solidworks, the overall style of the product was influenced by the design direction. This product could be manufactured; I have added in all the extra details such as the snap hooks and grooves, as well as mounting bosses and threads.
